Trick-or-Treat Fun!

Finally it was Halloween night! Oh, boy! I got dressed in my Buzz costume and got ready to case the neighborhood for treats! All the grandparents came up to our house for the celebration. Mimi made her famous chili and Tutu a homemade pumpkin pie. Yummy!

Here's a back view of my awesome costume. The tips of the wings even lit up. So cool!

I got my pumpkin lantern and treat bucket in hand. I was ready!

Thought I'd take a few quick pictures in front of our house before I hit the neighborhood. Daddy put up a few cool Halloween inflatables. Our house looked very spooky!

Off I go for some treats!

I walked toward my first house...

...And scored some candy!

There were lots of houses to go. This one had some awesome decorations.

But this one was extra scary. I had to pause before approaching the door.

I sure did get my technique down toward the middle. You ring the doorbell, say "trick or treat," the person gives you candy and you say "thank you." Are you sure this is legal? Sounds kinda like highway robbery to me.

Then we all crossed the street to hit the houses on the other side.

This house had a bunch of neat jack-o-lanterns out front.

I think there is one house left, everyone.

This nice lady was sitting outside the door. I got a bit confused since my plan was to ring the doorbell but I quickly caught on.

Then I rang our doorbell to see what would happen. I didn't get candy but Mimi and Daddy took my picture. Silly!

Well we sure did have a wonderful Halloween! I told Mommy on the way home from school today that I was all ready to do it again tonight. She says we only go trick-or-treating once a year. Oh, well, I guess I'll have to wait until next year...

Halloween Parade

On Friday, the magic of Halloween began with a bang! My school held it's annual Halloween parade and potluck and the preschool class was ready and looking mighty fine in our costumes. I was my favorite character: Buzz Lightyear. Here we all are with our teacher, Ms. Leslie, right before the parade began.
Look how cute we all look. We even practiced our marching techniques and everything. We were pumped!

We had to wait for all the younger kids to make their entrance but finally it was our turn.

There I am! I look a bit confused but I followed the crowd...

...And made my way to the front stage with my friends.

Here I am with my two best friends, Maggie and Gregory. What a bunch of cuties! By the way, Ms. Leslie told us to hold hands during the parade and we didn't know when to stop. It was pretty adorable.

Mommy and Daddy were both on hand for the parade this year.

And of course all my grandparents wouldn't have missed my parade for anything. I think Tutu, Mimi, Pop-Pop and Great-Grammy had more fun than us kiddos.

One last photo of me in my Buzz costume. I was so proud. To infinity and beyond!

So Notre Dame School sure did put on a super awesome parade, huh? I can't wait until Halloween night...more fun to come!

Happy Birthday, Pop-Pop and Jack!

Yesterday, we finally got both of our October birthday boys together to celebrate their big days. Jack turned 4 on October 15 and Pop-Pop turned a bit more than 4 on October 17.

Jack and I spent the afternoon having lots of fun. We played Angry Birds and decorated Halloween pictures on Daddy's iPad.

We wore goofy noses that Mimi gave us.
And we wore silly dinosaur hats from Great-Grammy.

But the best part of the afternoon was the cupcakes! Pop-Pop and Jack got ready to blow out their candles.

And I got a candle, too! Cool!

Hope you both made some big wishes!

And boy were those homemade cupcakes delicious! Thanks, Mimi!

So happy belated birthday, Jack and Pop-Pop! Can't wait for my own birthday...only two months away!

Grumpy the Dog

My Auntie Nora came down to Woodland Hills from Los Gatos to visit us on Saturday. And guess what? She brought her new puppy, Grumpy, with her. Aaron was visiting friends in Santa Cruz so Grumpy came with Auntie Nora. He's pretty cute, right?
Well from my perspective, Grumpy was only cute from afar. For those of you who don't remember, I kinda don't like animals. So of course, as soon as I got anywhere near Grumpy, I panicked and cried. Mommy and Daddy said he was very sweet and soft. I'll take their word for it.
Grumpy had a ball playing in Tutu and Sir's backyard. He had not played on grass before and loved it. He also loved munching on pine cones. Silly puppy!

Auntie Nora even took Grumpy for a swim in the pool. He did pretty well for a little guy! We all cheered him on.
The best part of the day was when Cousin Ella arrived. We hadn't seen each other since our zoo day so we had a blast catching up, being silly and running all over the yard.

There's nothing like playing with your little cousin, I tell you. We are such pals!

So even though I did not pet Grumpy, I sure had fun visiting with family, especially Auntie Nora. There's always next time, Grumpy!

Pumpkin Patch Field Trip

The fall is officially here! Hurray! It must be time for one of my favorite things to do in October. You guessed it...time to pick pumpkins!

Last Friday, I went on the annual pumpkin patch field trip with my school. Mommy and Daddy both took the day off to go with me. Every year, us kids at Notre Dame go to Lombardi Ranch in nearby Saugus for a morning of fun. I was all ready for a great day!
Once all my classmates arrived, we started out the day with a train ride through Scarecrow Alley.
I sat next to my two bestest friends, Maggie and Gregory. You might remember that they are twins. Thought I'd remind you in case you couldn't spot the family resemblance.
The twins and I had a blast pointing out all of the scarecrows along the way. We kept saying, "another scarecrow" each time we spotted one. Mommy and Daddy thought we were hilarious.
After the train ride, we were off to pick our pumpkins. They gave us each a bag to carry it home in. I wonder what is inside?
Oh, boy, it's an official Lombardi Ranch balloon! I tried and tried to blow it up but unfortunately my little lungs just couldn't do it no matter how much I huffed and puffed. Darn!
So I had to get a grown up to help me. Thanks, Daddy!
We all took turns picking the perfect pumpkin to take home. I picked this one. What a beauty, huh?
Before moving on to our next adventure, Daddy showed me another use for balloons. The squeaking was a bit too loud for my tastes.
Then it was time for the petting zoo. Ms. Kitty was showing her two-year-olds how nice it is to pet the goats.
But when Daddy tried to get me to pet one, I said, "no, no, no" and put my hands in my pockets. Daddy thought it would be funny to illustrate my genuine fears for the camera. That's pretty much my reaction.
Daddy tried and tried to show me how tame the goats really were and that they actually were very soft and gentle. But it did not work. I was definitely not going to pet one.
So we took a nice but strained photo with the goat instead.
If you are wondering where Mommy was during all this goat drama, well she was standing safely on the other side of the fence. Good call, Mommy. Those goats were shifty.
After the petting zoo, it was time for our annual group photo. I decided that I was brave enough to climb to the top of the big haystack by myself. Mommy took photos nervously from the ground.
Super Noah! I loved it!
Here's the whole Notre Dame gang. Not all of us were looking at the camera or even happy to be taking a picture but this is about as good as it gets with a whole mess of two-, three-, and four-year olds.
Oh, just in case you were wondering, that nice lady sitting next to me is Ms. Leslie. She is the best teacher and all of us preschoolers just love her!
After a quick lunch and a few goodbyes to my friends, Mommy, Daddy and I went off to pick just a few more pumpkins before heading home. Daddy and I found this cart and away we went.
There sure were a lot of pumpkins to choose from. We settled on one more big pumpkin to add to our three smaller ones from the pumpkin pick. I picked it out all by myself.
Then I picked one last itty bitty pumpkin for Peanut. I thought she needed one, too, even though she's still hanging out in Mommy's tummy. I'm thoughtful like that.
Finally, I picked out a few gourds to decorate our dining room table. I like this one, Mommy.

Whew! What an awesome morning we had at the pumpkin patch. I can't wait until Halloween so we can carve all our pumpkins. Oh, boy! Until next year, Lombardi Ranch...
