Video from My 2nd Birthday Party

Hi, cyber friends!

My Mimi got a really cool new Flip Video Camera recently and she took this great video of me "blowing out the candles" at my party. Here's the link...enjoy!

A Spa Day?

Yesterday when Dada picked me up from daycare, my teacher, Miss Kitty, told him that I needed a new change of clothes for my cubby because my friends and I discovered mud during outside time. As you know, it rained for three days straight and last week was very cold (OK, not as cold as most places but cold for California) and this was the first time any of us had been outside to play for a week. So we took full advantage of our freedom and played in the mud. The hilarious part was that of all the items in my cubby to choose from, they put me in a shirt that was two sizes too small. Notice the belly sticking out. How embarrassing!

Then at dinner I decided to give my hair a yogurt treatment. It's all the rage, you know. So after mud and yogurt, I was quite a sight, as you can see. Mama says people pay big money for "spa experiences" like this. I don't know about that but it sure was fun!
Then Mama spiked my hair up and I laughed and laughed. I was cracking Mama and Dada up, too. Thank goodness for nice, warm baths with bubbles at the end of the day!

Some of My New Toys

On Sunday, I decided to lay low for the day (I was exhausted) and try out a few of my birthday gifts. Aunt Jenn, Uncle Jon and Cousin Jack got me this awesome easel. It has a chalk board on one side and a magnetic white board on the other. Plus you can clip your paper to it and draw or paint. I was especially interested in the magnetic side. We have a stainless steel fridge and Mama says that magnets don't stick to it, no matter how many times you try. And trust me, I've tried. Here I am trying it out with some neat snowman magnets that Great-Grammy Mary got me...
I was so excited. OK, REALLY excited! I spent a good couple of hours playing with the magnets. I was "Noah the Focused" for sure! (Note from Mama: Seriously, he spent the entire morning sticking magnets on the the board, taking them off and sticking them back on...over and over and over. It was hilarious!)

I also got this cool Yo Gabba Gabba Dance Mat from Mimi and Pop-Pop. I was a bit apprehensive at first but then dove right in. As my buddy DJ Lance Rock would say, "Listening and dancing to music is awesome!"

The Big 2nd Birthday Bash: The Party

Finally it was time for the big party to start! Here I am getting ready to greet my guests.
The theme for the party? You guessed it: Yo Gabba Gabba! We had Brobee party hats, Plex blowers, awesome placemats with all the characters and even a DJ Lance Rock Cake (more on that later). Here are Pop-Pop, Sir and Terry enjoying the party atmosphere.I had to make sure to keep up my strength so I scarfed goldfish crackers. OK, so I put a lot in my mouth at once but I had so many people to schmooze with. Doesn't leave a whole lot of time for eating.
Then the party was in full swing. Here is a shot of all the action. We served chili dogs with homemade chili made by Pop-Pop and Mimi. Yum! But of course I had mac 'n cheese.
My beautiful cousin, Ella, came all the way from Redondo Beach in the rain with her parents, my godparents Aunt Marisa and Uncle Mike. She's four-months-old and growing so big!
Here I am blowing my blower. I was so good at it that Mama had to keep telling me to stick to one blower and leave the others for the guests. What!?
Finally it was time for cake! My Tutu made this incredible DJ Lance Rock cake for us from scratch. Wowee!
Here I am with Mama and Dada getting ready to blow out the candles. OK, so I didn't exactly blow out the candles. Mama and I practiced for weeks but I cracked under the pressure. There's always next year...
See, I tried...
Thanks for making this neato cake, Tutu. You're the best!
Here I am with all my favorite ladies. Notice Mama's party hat. Of course I would not wear one...you know how much I do not like hats.
Here are the party-goers enjoying their cake. Cousin Ella tried really hard to score a bite but she was denied! Sorry, Ella, only eight months until your birthday...
Then it was time for presents! I got these neat frog boots from Cousin Jack. Now we can stomp around in our boots together!
It's so hard going to another kid's party when you are 2 and not getting anything. But Mimi made sure to give Jack a few surprises, too. Good show, Mimi!I got this cool Bat Cave from Tutu, Sir and Aunt Nora. It took all the adults a long time to get it out of the box. I think I'm going to have to share this one with Mama, Dada and Uncle Jon.
Another cool gift was the Yo Gabba Gabba Boogie Down Dance Mat from Mimi and Pop-Pop. I tried it out today and it rocks!
In good toddler fashion, the boxes are always more entertaining than the actual gifts that came inside.
At the end of the day, Jack and I were sooooo pooped! We had to take a short rest to energize ourselves.

So thanks, everyone, for coming to my party, for celebrating my cute little life and bringing such great gifts. Mama says we get to do this again next year, and the year after that and the...well you get the picture.

The Big 2nd Birthday Bash: The Morning

So is this what it's like turning 2? Am I supposed to feel different? Hummm....
When I woke up yesterday morning, I found this birthday lion! He plays the "Happy Birthday" song. Mimi and Pop-Pop bought it for me. I even played it for them on Skype.

Here's a little video of me testing him out and making sure he will perform during "the big moment" later that day. I think we're good.

I better go and have a good nap so I'll be ready for all my guests...

The Big 2nd Birthday Bash: The Day Before

Hi, cyber friends! So guess what? I'm 2! We kicked off the weekend with a little party after nap time at daycare. Mama, Dada, Mimi and Pop-Pop had spent the day getting ready for my party on Saturday so they decided to swing by at snack time to surprise me and bring us kiddos some delicious homemade cookies. My teacher, Miss Kitty, made me this adorable hat to wear. Cute, huh? The celebration has begun...stay tuned for all the party details!

Christmas Is Here!

I woke up from my nap today to find that Christmas had arrived at our house! Mimi and Pop-Pop came to help Mama and Dada get the place decorated and I slept through the whole thing. Sheesh! I even got an early Christmas present from my grandparents: a Little People Nativity set. It is so neat! There are sheep and a cow and Mary, Joseph and Baby Jesus, too.
And when you touch the angel on top, it plays "Away in a Manger" and lights up. Cool, huh?
Here's a quick video of my first nativity experience...
Then I also noticed this tree. As soon as Mama brought me down the stairs I saw it right away and said, "tree." There are all these little toys and bangles on it. This one is neat...
...oooo, and this one, too. I kept going back and forth between the tree and the nativity. I was on sensory overload but it was great.
So only one more week until I'm 2! Can you believe it?! We're having a party to celebrate so stay tuned...
